Known as: Arrowgrass, Seaside Arrowgrass
Latin Name: Triglochin family
Description: Grasslike leaves at the base of the flower stalk
which may be up to 3 feet tall. Leaves are fleshy and round with
a semicircular indentation the length of the blade on one side. The
flowers are small, green and arranged densely along the upper part of the
flower stalk giving a knobby appearance. Fruits are 6-part, roundish
pods, each segment containing one seed; pods cluster tightly along stalk.
Poisonous Parts: Leaves. Plant contains cyanogenic
glycoside.
Symptoms: Causes vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps, and diarrh
