Latin Name:  Ilex Aquifolium
Description: Distinctive prickly evergreen leaves with scooped edges.  Leaves can be variegated with cream.  Bright red berries and thorns.  Also appears in the wild in some areas of North America.
Poisonous Parts:  Berries.  Involves saponin toxins.
Symptoms: May produce vomiting, abdominal pain, and in some cases diarrhea.
Treatment: Unless your cat is unconscious or having convulsions, induce vomiting and follow procedures to delay absorption and speed elimination.  Get prompt veterinary assistance.
