Known As:  Loco Weed, Locoweed, Various vetches and milk vetches
Latin Name: Astragalus, Fabaceae or Legume family
Description: Common name for several speciaes of plants.
Poisonous Parts:  Entire plant.  Plant may absorb toxic levels of selenium.
Symptoms: Hallucogenic.  Produces varied toxic effects. Causes vomiting, abdominal pain, cramps, diarrhea.  Can be fatal.
Treatment: Unless your cat is unconscious or having convulsions, induce vomiting and follow procedures to delay absorption and speed elimination.  Get prompt veterinary assistance.
